BaseballArt.com prepares for MLB Opening Day

by Baseball Art on March 14, 2010

With MLB Opening Day fast approaching, it seems everyone is talking about baseball. That is definitely the case here at BaseballArt.com, where the phone has been ringing and the email queue has been overflowing with messages from artists, baseball fans and other companies interested in participating in the growing baseball art community.

The launch of the Baseball Art Facebook page about a month ago has been met with great enthusiasm — more than 400 fans signed on in the first four weeks, and we’re on the way to 500. Facebook has proven to be a great way for the community to dialogue on anything related to baseball art. There are already dozens of accomplished artists who are a part of this comunity, along with publishers, former MLB players, owners and employees of baseball-related business, and hundreds of baseball art fans.

The next important component in this community-building process is the development of the BaseballArt.com website, and this post is the first step in that process. From this day forward, our objective is to make this site the first place people turn when they are looking for information about baseball art. And while our main emphasis will be on visual art, we will certainly consider promoting music, books, poems, films, plays and other forms of expression that are related to the sport we love.

The best way for this community to grow is through the participation of its members.  Please consider commenting on the Facebook page, making suggestions in the comments section of this site, or contacting me by email (chris AT baseballart.com).
