Ron, this summer I bought two of your pencil sketches from 1979- Killer Whale and Harp Seal, at a flea market. As soon as I got home, I wished I had gotten the walrus sketch also! They had the “Otters and Others “address in San Diego on them. I really like them.-Sincerely, Lesli in Bremerton, WA.

Hi Thomas,
I still have about 10 of the caricatures, including Thurman Munson, Tom Seaver, Graig Nettles, Bobby Murcer, Willie Mays, Roy White and Tommy Agee. I used to look forward to them every week that summer. It was great to learn that Ron followed in his father’s footsteps. –Chris

Ron … I too am a BIG fan of your dad’s work. In 1973 when I was 10 years old living in Yonkers, New York, I had to fight my younger sister Linda over the Yankee / Mets pullout of the Sunday New York Daily News. Even though I pleaded to my Dad that “these are works of art that need to put away for the future” … my sister still won at times by using her most powerful weapon – “the waterfall of tears” from “Daddy’s little girl.” Anyway – good news though … I still have mine 39 + years later – no tears here. Tell your Dad, thanks for the memories (Tom DiGiovanni – Juneau, Alaska).

The third picture of the “intensity of pitcher a moment after releasing the pitch” is my son, Justin Wright. We were told of the existence of this picture and have since purchased it. Justin was in the class of 2008 at Middlebury College. The catcher is Nick Lefebvre also 2008. I think this was during the 2007 season. It is amazing to see the ball right after it leaves his hand.

If you could scan them or send a quality jpegs from photos, I would post some or all on the Baseball Art Facebook page. You might find a buyer that way. I know I purchased a Bobby Murcer from that set at a show about 10 years ago, and I paid $25 at that time. Don’t know if that was a fair price then, and I certainly don’t know the market value now. –Chris
